ZERO NOW NETWORK (ZNN) is an interlocking system of organizations (non and for profit) that provide violence prevention solutions to the residents of Philadelphia. Our approach is innovative and comprehensive from workforce development, community protection to conflict mediation operating from a centralized hub, a
Human Services University campus.
Our collective experience in the field, research and gathered data from multiple sources have delivered us to a harrowing consensus: The people in the City of Philadelphia, across all communities (especially Black and Brown) are living under a protracted, SOFT STATE OF EMERGENCY (SSE), as it pertains to public health vis-à-vis gun violence.
There exists in Philadelphia a culture of violence, which it is our duty as community stakeholders (civilian, civil servant and corporate citizen alike) to counter and neutralize to the best of our ability.
Employing the grassroots genesis and direction of ZERO NOW NETWORK (ZNN), this is the effort we are asking you to co-initiate and support:
Following the ZNN model of Community Sourced-Government Enforced-Corporate
Endorsed (CSGECE) initiatives, we are asking that a SOFT STATE OF EMERGENCY (SSE) be declared in the city of Philadelphia under the banner campaign: ZERO HOMICIDES NOW – #ZERONOW.

Soft State of Emergency (SSE) Guidelines
- In effect until such time as the homicide rate in Philadelphia is brought to and remains at ZERO for 100 consecutive days.
- Broad and ongoing marketing of the #ZERONOW campaign and the
availability of services to citizens in potentially violent conflicts; services that put them in touch with non law enforcement intervention before guns are fired. - ZERO HOMICIDES NOW messaging integrated with the workings of all
sectors of public service including but not limited to The School District of Philadelphia, all City Property (i.e. rec centers, health centers, libraries, etc.), and all Philadelphia Prisons (juvenile and adult). - All Municipal employees and contractors in the human services fields
(emergency services exempted) be made to become temporary Philly Truce App Mediators as part of their job description for the duration of SSE. - Commence funding for ZERONOW NETWORK initiatives, beginning with the training of grassroots PHILLY TRUCE APP mediators, and DEFENDERS OF THE STREETS Units, and 10,000 FEARLESS Community Protection Services.
- A moratorium on all homicide and shooting reports in the local media for the duration of SSE.
A reduction of violently themed music on the airwaves for the duration of SSE
Instagram restrictions/interventions on antagonistic posts between known rivals.
